Output of crude steel in June rose 2.5 pct from a year earlier to 9.69 mln tons, the first rise in three months, the Japan Iron and Steel Federation said.

Month-on-month, output declined 2.4 pct.

For the first half to June, crude steel production reached 56.98 mln tons, up 0.4 pct year-on-year.
